HCD Ltd was appointed by McLaren Construction to deliver major earthworks, ground improvement and infrastructure works at Ansty Park, Coventry, helping to unlock a significant commercial development site.
The project involved the excavation and movement of 250,000m³ of material, the construction of 1km of adoptable roads, and the stabilisation of 150,000m² of ground. Through careful planning and innovative engineering solutions, HCD transformed challenging ground conditions into a development-ready platform capable of supporting long-term growth.
A sustainable earthworks strategy maximised the reuse of site-won materials, reducing waste movements and improving programme efficiency. Advanced ground improvement techniques, including cement stabilisation and rolling dynamic compaction, were utilised to enhance bearing capacity and deliver a robust foundation for future infrastructure.
Environmental responsibility remained central to the project. Ecological surveys and mitigation measures were implemented throughout the programme, ensuring protected habitats and species were safeguarded while construction activities progressed efficiently.
The scheme also included the delivery of adoptable highway infrastructure, cement-stabilised retaining structures and sub-base improvements, creating the essential foundations for future development.
The successful completion of Ansty Park demonstrates our ability to deliver large-scale enabling works and infrastructure projects safely, efficiently and sustainably. By combining technical expertise, innovative construction methods and environmentally responsible practices, we helped create a development-ready site that will support investment, employment and long-term economic growth in the region.
